India Prepares for Inaugural F1 Grand Prix
As India prepares to host the inaugural Formula 1 Indian Grand Prix taking place on 28-30 October 2011, President and CEO of Formula One Management, Bernie Ecclestone, has been reported as saying that F1 authorities are happy with the progress at the newly constructed Buddh circuit located outside New Delhi.
Seventh Win for Vettel
The Belgian Grand Prix was hosted on Sunday, 28 August 2011, and was once again dominated by the Red Bull Team, as Sebastian Vettel was able to capture this leg of the Formula 1 Championships with his team mate, Mark Webber, taking second place. Having both drivers on the podium was a great victory for Red Bull, as have now increased their lead on the other teams in regard to championship points. Jenson Button was able to gain a third position for McLaren. The day proved to be difficult for many drivers, as pit stops and accidents plagued some teams.
Vettel Wins Unforgettable Monaco Grand Prix
Known as one of the most famous legs of the Formula 1 season, the Grand Prix de Monaco has been taking place since the year 1929. Its intricate and exciting course is laid out through the streets of Monaco, and as it features difficult corners, tunnels and even elevation changes, it is also known as one of the most challenging races of the season. Even though extremely high speeds cannot be reached on the course, is remains one of the most dangerous and on Sunday, 29 May 2011, the course showed just how treacherous it can be.
Podium for Vettel in Australia
Sebastian Vettel once again proved that he is a champion by winning the Australian Grand Prix on Sunday 27 March 2011. In 2010 he became F1 world champion, and together with Mark Webber, his team mate, he assisted in securing the Constructors Championships for the Red Bull team. Born in Germany on 3 July 1987, he was the youngest runner up in 2009 when Jenson Button won the title. Now it seems that his flawless driving and natural talent is putting him back into contention for winning the 2011 Formula One season.
Vettel is New F1 World Champion
The atmosphere at Yas Marina was thick with anticipation and excitement as the cars for the 2010 Formula 1 Championships’ final round got ready to race. With all attention focused on Mark Webber (Red Bull) and Fernando Alonso (Ferrari) to win the drivers’ championship, there was one factor not many fans took into account, and that was the fact that in pole position was Red Bull driver Sebastian Vettel. Mark Webber started in fifth position, with Alonso in third, and the stage was set for a race and a showdown that people are unlikely to forget.
Red Bull Leads the Pack
Red Bull Racing’s Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel found themselves at the top of the Formula One drivers’ standings following Sunday’s Monaco F1 Grand Prix event in which the talented duo took first and second place respectively. As the sixth race of the season, the Monaco victory puts Webber and Vettel at the top of the standings, each with 78 points, however the Australian’s two-race victory puts him in the lead, with the German having claimed first place once this season.
