All Ryan Newman needed was the disappointment at the Bank of America 500 to motivate him even more to win this weekend at Martinsville!
I was at Lowe's watching when Newman started 1st and ran up front for the whole race. Honestly, the track was really dirty and there was debris on the track even before the race began.
But according to Newman's alltel racing podcast on alltelracing.com it wasn't debris or a blown tire that caused him to crash. Newman said he doesn't really know what it was, but something suddenly happened to the car.
He could basically see the finish line from where his car wrecked into the wall with one lap to go.
I hope Newman is able to finish strong this weekend and prove to everyone that the Alltel team isn't going to just sit back and wait around until the end to win...like some other drivers!
