NASCAR Musts!

Most fans cannot get enough of NASCAR racing! The circuit is hectic and most people cannot keep up with all the events. Tickets for top races can also be hard to come by. The answer to these gaps between what we want to see of NASCAR, and the little we may have achieved in the past, lies in planning schedules well in advance. Here are 5 top NASCAR racing events that no fan should miss:

  • The Daytona 500: you must have heard of this race even if you are not yet a NASCAR fan! No other track tests driver and machine skills quite like these legendary 500 miles. The two and a half mile track has steeply banked turns, and anything can happen during the 200 laps, which are covered at speeds of around 200 miles per hour. The event is almost half a century old, and is especially full of the legends of NASCAR. No driver can expect to make it to the top of the NASCAR racing world without making it the Daytona 500. The event has launched careers for new entrants in the sport, and has also enabled others to stage dramatic come backs.

  • The Indianapolis 500: the event has been run ever since the pre World War II years. Danica Patrick has finished 4th at this track, which is a record for a woman in this rather male-dominated sport. The spectacle of racing here is particularly exciting with the best drivers of the NASCAR circuit reaching amazing acceleration, and some bagging the beautiful trophy more than once.

  • The Budweiser Shootout: the inclusion of past NASCAR champions is an endearing feature of this event. It is also one of the first big races of the NASCAR circuit, so you have to watch this one to get ‘in to the mood’ for the year! You can hang around for a week, and spend quality time in Florida, for the Daytona 500 follows the Budweiser Shootout.

  • The NASCAR Nextel All-Star Challenge: the name says it all! Mark out the dates as soon as you get a calendar for the next year, and make it a point to book as many tickets as you can! Only the best of NASCAR can take part, and it is a great honor even if you finish poorly! Here is a NASCAR event that you simply cannot miss!

  • Pennsylvania 500: the Pocono Raceway is a highlight of this exciting NASCAR event. No other track presents the formidable difficulties of Pocono. The banks are steep, and the shifting widths really test skills to the very limit. Here is a race no NASCAR enthusiast should miss!

  • Every NASCAR event is worth following, but your physical presence at these top 5 events will make your year!
